Gold hits a record in Karachi as wedding season meets a nervous rupee
Jewellers say volumes are thinner than the headlines. Families are buying lighter sets, not more of them.

24-carat gold printed a record in Sarafa Bazaar on Saturday, driven by a firm international price and a rupee that still makes imports feel expensive. Wedding demand is real, jewellers said, but it is more selective: families are choosing fewer pieces, not abandoning gold.
